PRESALE FAQ

Do I need to be a non-profit?
- Of course not. Our goal when we started our business was to make quality web services affordable and easy for any business, individual or organization. But we like to do what we can for small organizations of limited resources, and this includes non-profits, daycare centers, schools, and clubs with tight budgets.

How can you offer so much for so little?
- Good question. Technology, automation and partnerships. When you sign up for InsertSiteHere, your account is set up instantly and automatically. And our support network includes an extensive online database of help files, an online trouble ticket system, and our 24/7 email support service.

I already have a URL. Do I have to buy another one?
- Of course not. Your Registrar (the service you bought your URL through) should allow you to reset your "nameservers" to point at our nameserver addresses. If they don't, well, get yourself a new Registrar! ;)

Which Domains can you host?
- We can host virtually any top level domain.

Do You Offer a Money-back Guarantee?
- We offer a 15 day money-back guarantee for all our web hosting clients, which means that in this period you can have your money refunded. Anything after these 15 days is non-refundable.

Do you do backups of the sites?
We treat our clients information with the utmost care. That's the reason why we backup all the info on our servers on a daily basis. Should there be any technical issue, we can restore all the info from the previous day. Learn more about our facility here.

SUPPORT FAQ

CONTACTING SUPPORT

  • First, review these FAQ's
  • Second, send a trouble ticket to technical support 24x7x365 from your Account Panel - be sure to explain the results of your steps one and two above.
  • Third, send an email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week here.

    CONTROL PANELS

Where can I login to my control panel(s)?
    - You have an account with InsertSiteHere. Through that account, you can buy multiple hosting accounts and manage multiple websites. Consequently, you have two kinds of control panels to use... your Account Panel (just one), and your Control Panel (cPanel - one for each hosting account).

  • Account Panel: CLICK HERE - Use this to see your InsertSiteHere account. Review your Contact Information/email/password, buy additional hosting packages, view your invoices, submit Trouble Tickets, and view details on each of the hosting accounts you have.
From within the " View Hosting Account Details" area, you can directly click to the cPanel for that hosting account.
  • cPanel: Your Control Panel is a directory inside each website. You can access your cPanel from within your Account Panel (see above) or, to surf directly to it, go to www.yoursitenamehere.etc/cpanel - Note that it has a unique username/pass from your Account Panel. Use the cPanel to manage your web hosting account... control email accounts, create protected directories, submit your site to search engines, install a shopping cart, manage ftp, and more. See cPanel user documentation here.

    EMAIL

Where can I login to check my email?
    - Your web-based email is a directory inside each website.
To surf directly to it, go to www.yoursitenamehere.etc/webmail. The USERNAME is your complete email address. The PASSWORD is your current email password. Once you're logged in, you'll have a choice of email programs to use.

Why are there THREE Web-based email choices?
    - Because we love to overdeliver. All three are great programs, with different interfaces and features. You're welcome to use whichever you prefer.
    Learn more about them:

  • HORDE - click here
  • SQUIRREL MAIL - click here

I use Outlook/Express/Eudora/Other. Do I have to use web-based email? What is the POP3/SMTP information?
    - Heck no. In fact, because any space used to store your email for you counts as part of your hosting plan's storage quota, you'll want to either keep the stored email to a minimum, or simply download your email with your local favorite (Outlook/Express/Eudora/Other). HOWEVER, web-based email is convenient if you need to access email from the road.
Use these POP3 settings to connect and download with your local email program.

  • POP3 (Incoming Mail) Server: mail.yoursitenamehere.etc
  • SMTP (Outgoing Mail) Server: mail.yoursitenamehere.etc - OR - use the smtp setting provided by your ISP. We recommend this to ensure trouble-free sending.

    TECHNICAL

    What are your nameservers?
    - NS1.insertsitehere.com
    - NS2.insertsitehere.com
Log into your account at the Registrar with whom you registered your URL(s)... there you should find a tool that allows you to 'redirect' your nameservers. Point them at ours... then, users looking for your site by name will be forwarded to our servers, where they'll find your site. NOTE that if you have multiple domains, and you want them all to point at the same website, you'll need to create additional 'pointers' from within the cPanel for that website, as well as point the URL(s) at our nameservers through your registrar.

    Where is my Shared SSL?
    - We host our shared SSL on an encrypted server, accessible by appending your cPanel username. So, any pages on your site that you'd like to be "SECURE", just upload them to your site as usual, then link to them via:
So, if you want your order form to be secure, and the username for your cPanel is "Banana", link to your order form with:

I want my OWN SSL. How can I do that?
    - You'll need to purchase your own SSL Cert. Go to GeoTrust ($169/year), Thawte ($149/year) , or Instant SSL ($49+), and follow the simple directions to purchase your Cert. Then, install it on your site through your cPanel.
You'll also need a Static IP address. To order a static IP, Login to your Account Panel and contact Account Management through your Support Ticket system.
